10TH ANNIVERSARY - APRIL 2004
The 10th anniversary of Cobain's death is upon us. Here are where things stand as of this update. (Revised April 20th).

MEDIA COVERAGE
Wallace and Halperin are back with a second book about the murder theories entitled Love & Death: The Murder of Kurt Cobain.

New Book Reveals Evidence that Rock Icon was Murdered. Relying on a leaked autopsy report and Seattle Police Department records obtained under the Freedom of Information Act, they reveal that the official suicide scenario was scientifically impossible. The records show that Cobain had ingested a triple lethal dose of heroin, before his life was ended with a shotgun bullet, suggesting a murder staged to look like a suicide.

In the book, Kurt's grandfather Leland Cobain goes public for the first time, charging that his grandson was murdered. He joins a chorus of others close to Kurt and Courtney who now dispute the official verdict.

The case got a lot of publicity with the release of this book. Streaming clips of television and radio appearances by authors Max Wallace and Ian Halperin, along with Private Investigator Tom Grant are available on the Love & Death Media Coverage section of the site.

ON THE INTERNET
A new web site called Cobain Was Killed popped up in March, and posted questions leading up to April 3rd. It appears to be the official site for the new Love & Death book. They have an excerpt of the book available for reading.

Tom Grant's cobaincase.com site got a nice facelift in early 2004.

Frances Barnett's indefenceofkurtcobain.com site also got a revamp, and posted a new section called "The So-Called "Suicide" Note" with an analysis of the final note in question.

Carolynn's deathofkurtcobain.com site is working on a new documentary project which will be available in streaming video on the site soon.

There's a petition to reopen the investigation available online to sign.

Courtney in NYC: March 2004COURTNEY LOVE
Love says she's dreading the 10th anniversary of her husband's death. "They say it takes two years to get over something like that. Then it gets better, you can move on. But then, eight years later, it all starts coming back, all over again"

She put out a solo album called America's Sweetheart on February 10th. She is also shopping around a book about her life that is reported to be an "emotional biography in scrapbook form".

Courtney has been to court a few times in the last couple months regarding drug possession charges from a October 2003 incident and a another misdemeanor charge. Love was also in rehab for a little while.

Richard Lee has appeared at some of her court hearings and made news with his attempts to confront her about these murder theories.
